Ministry to the Community

Obedience to God

"Do you not say, 'There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest. John 4:35 (NASB)

"And the master said to the slave, 'Go out into the highways and along the hedges, and compel them to come in, so that my house may be filled. Luke 14:23 (NASB)

These two verses pretty well say it in a way that is not hard to comprehend.    God tells us to lift up our eyes…….  HE might as well say open your eyes. Then in the next verse, he gives us the operative word when he tells us to compel them to come in.

I am aware that it is difficult to obey these two directives, but we know that God is very serious about our leading others to God and telling others what God has done for us.

After much prayer and search Pray and Go seems to be a great way for us to serve the Lord and help reveal a path to knowing Him.

Without going into great detail regarding the reasons we find it difficult to share Christ it seemed to be more incumbent upon us to find a way to break the eyes and begin to reach out to the community regarding God's Kingdom.

Pray & Go provides us with a vehicle by which we can share Jesus Christ in a way that is not threatening. It is easy it can be done on your schedule and in an area of your choice. We offer training at church and we offer training on the street.

A brief overview looks like this:

Pray that God will reveal to you your need to share Christ and the Kingdom

  • Take the training
  • Find a partner … You will want a partner to pray with and for safety.
  • Familiarize yourself with the material
  • Pick an area that you would like to reach for the Kingdom
  • Pray at home before going out at the time of your choice
  • At the street or area where you will be ministering.
    • Select your first house
    • From the street pray for that home and the occupants of the home.
    • After praying walk up to the front house and put a door hanger securely on the door.
    • As you leave Thank the Lord for this opportunity
    • Go to the next home and pray again.

You will develop your team strategy with your partner following a short training.   Pastor and Deacons will always be standing by to assist you when you need it.   The Church will provide the supplies you need and a map that suggests where to minister (if desired)  and shows areas that have already be prayed over.

You will then be a Pray and Go warrior.   Pray and Go!!     Pray and Go!!
