Fiery Holiness, Burning Hope
With word pictures to spark your imagination, the preeminent prophet Isaiah paints pictures of the holy and composes symphonies of hope. Witness the double-edged dynamic of God’s holiness, both burning away sin in the furnaces of His judgment and refining the humble so they are fit for His presence. God the looming judge also sends the Suffering Servant, who takes our sorrows upon Himself. Watch Isaiah bring these seeming contradictions to dramatic resolution in his magnificent masterwork.

Briggs Family (Latvia)

February 2015

Dear Friends,

This winter has been the warmest winter inside our house since we have been in Latvia. Thanks again

Fair Haven Baptist Olympian kids and thank you Fellowship Baptist in Saginaw, Texas. Your special offerings months ago are really appreciated now in February. We were able to leave firewood behind and now have a furnace that burns pressed sawdust pellets. It's really nice and efficient.

The church in Ozolnieki is doing well although we are in the middle of a flu and cold epidemic which has kept half the congregation at home for over a month. Some of the older members are hunkering down and not coming out. Everyone is eating garlic to ward off the viruses. Praise the Lord our family has not gotten sick. We don't even gorge on garlic. Even through all of this, we have had some visitors, and we have seen one young man get saved.

We have been traveling out to a village 30 miles from Ozolnieki to meet with the youth there. Thank you for praying for these meetings. The group continues to grow in numbers. Some of the young people travel a long way to make it. Most of them are not believers, and I am surprised that they rarely miss a Saturday. Our last meeting was on the topic of death and what happens when you die. Recently, Iconducted the funeral of a young man who slipped and hit his head and also there was a boy who dropped dead due to a brain aneurysm. Both of these sobering incidences brought their attention to the fact that life is short, and we must be ready to go into eternity. They were faced with the question, "Where will you go when you die?" God tells us, "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." Pray that God will help them understand and believe that Jesus died for their sins and rose from the dead so that they can have forgiveness and heaven.

There is a family in our church who has been helping needy mothers with baby food, clothes, and practical things for a couple of years now. They have been telling them of a Savior and praying for their salvation. They have recruited Linda to come alongside and have meetings with these 14 women on a regular basis for the purpose of sharing the gospel. God has been at work in their hearts, and she has begun to see spiritual fruit in some of their lives. Pray for these women.  Linda is very excited about her ministry with them.

We are in the planning stages of conducting a summer camp. It is for those kids in the countryside I mentioned above as well as a 100 or so others. There is a good possibility that Rick Washburn along with believers from Vandalia Baptist Temple will be here to help make it happen. Pray that God will be working in the hearts of the campers and for souls to be saved. Pray for everyone involved. We need much prayer for this. Thank you all for your prayers and faithful support. We appreciate you.

In Christ,

Andy Briggs and Family
